Grampy & Grammy Time

Mike & Amanda asked us to come & babysit while they went to CA for the weekend to celebrate their upcoming 10th wedding anniversary. We grudgingly agreed after a lot of arm twisting (not). We got in at about 10:30 pm Friday evening. The kids had arranged for their friend Renee to bring Dane and pick us up at the airport as they had left earlier in the day. When we got to the house, we played a little bit and then it was time for bed. Dane slept until about 9:30 on Saturday morning before Grammy got impatient and woke him up. We had a fun & busy time and we're wondering when they plan to go away again?!?!

We took a bike ride on Saturday. They have a nice trail system & we rode several miles out of town. Dane was a real trooper in the trailer.

Dane likes to point out the Stratosphere Tower anytime he sees it. (Distant center)

Mommy & Daddy got Dane this new trike for his birthday. He's learning to pedal it.

Dane was pleased to find out that his monkey could ride along.

Each night Dane likes to have his favorite book about Tomas the Tortoise read. He likes to name the bold letters that begin each paragraph.

Grammy & Grampy delivered his golf set that he had gotten from Uncle Mark, Auntie Anna & Morgan for his birthday when they were in MN in March. He thought a little Sunday morning golf was in order.

Shooting hoops is always fun. "I made it!"

Dane was still napping when Mommy & Daddy got home Sunday evening but they couldn't wait for him to wake up. A happy reunion!

Nearly every day, Dane goes to the park to shoot hoops. Speaking from experience, Grampy says it's not so easy to keep holding him "way up high".

It looks like Daddy has been teaching Dane the "pitcher's stance".
