Winter Weekend

We were both fortunate enough to have the Martin Luther King holiday off so we decided to get away for the weekend. We went to Lutsen, MN to do some skiing & relaxing to celebrate our January birthdays. Despite the sub-zero temps and brisk winds, we managed to spend several hours on the slopes. It was a fun time.

We stayed at the Caribou Highlands Resort right at the Lutsen Mountain ski area. We were quite impressed with the the amount of development and even the size of the ski area for being located in the midwest. It's not mountain skiing but it's pretty nice.

We enjoyed looking out over Lake Superior from the slopes.

The Poplar River continued to flow in the sub-zero temps.

We wondered how the weather was there. Mom and Dad told us you were going that weekend. We thought of you because it was -20 here that weekend and we are 6 hours closer to the equator. Looks like you were bundled up and not hindered by the cold. I've heard it's a very nice place for the midwest. The resort looks very inviting and cozy.
