On the road again

Last week we headed to the east coast to attend the wedding of Pearl's nephew Brandon. It was a perfect opportunity to also spend a few days with Steve's brother Delmar in Pennsylvania.

Amish farms in Lancaster County.

A steam train near Lancaster.

Delmar wanted us to see the beautiful Longmont Gardens at Kennett Square, PA

Princeton, NJ and New York City

We spent two nights near Princeton, NJ where Pearl's nephew Chad and his wife Sasha are graduate students. Princeton campus is beautiful and is full of history as it was established before our country was founded.

Thanks to Chad for being our NYC tour guide! He did a wonderful job of planning and keeping us on track to see many of the high points.

View of the Manhattan skyline from Ellis Island.
Chad introduced us to Ethiopian cuisine at the Queen of Sheba in downtown NYC before we saw the Broadway show "The Spelling Bee". We enjoyed both.

Pearl took this shot in Times Square for all her fellow chocolate lovers!

Vacation rental home near Cambridge, MD

This home and bunkhouse turned out to be the perfect accomodations for our group of 17 that traveled to Maryland for Brandon & Lydia's wedding. We enjoyed 4 nights here.

This is the view of the Choptank River from our deck. The river flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Lydia's parents live directly across the river in the wooded area.

Brandon's family bonded with Lydia's on Thursday evening while having a crab feed at our rental home.

We had a fun evening of visiting and music.

Busy weekends and many miles!

On Saturday, May 19, Our neighbor Jim married his sweetheart Jenny at Thumper Pond Resort on Otter Tail Lake. Benny was honored to be the "wedding singer".

On May 20, Pearl's niece Danella graduated from Parshall High School.

Last weekend, we were in Dallas for Pearl's niece Carissa's wedding. Carissa and Ed were married on May 28. Congratulations! We wish you many happy years together. (If you want to see more pictures, Mike Amanda and Dane have some posted on their blog.)

Grampy & Grammy got to have Dane with them overnight and also helped to get him ready for the wedding...He's a pretty sharp looking young man, wouldn't you say?

Gary & Diane, the proud parents of Carissa and their new son-in-law Ed

Dane just loved these stairs and didn't realize he was getting in the way of the photographer but the photographer just saw it as another photo op!

We had to look up our old apartment in Plano where we lived when we were first married 29 years ago. This was also Amanda's first home...It is the one on the lower level to the left of the stairs. It's quite interesting to think that Carissa and Ed now live less than a mile from here in a beatuiful condo.

Steve's nephew, Perry graduated from high school today. We were to his open house yesterday but had to miss the ceremony .

It was fun to be with Steve's family...All of his siblings and their spouses were there except for his youngest brother Delmar.
